You are the granddaughter of a baker in the small and cozy town of Tatalli. The ongoing pandemic has left your little brother in a frail state. However, after a new and mysterious airborne virus comes to Tatalli, your brother's condition is even worse. Your brother means the world to you. It's up to you to find a cure and save him. Instructions: W = jump A = left D = right Space = shoots toast (but if you can, try not to shoot anyone. They're just trying their best to survive.) R = resets player Left-click = progresses story slides Theme: Crumbs represents the theme "Save the World" in its story. The goal for the player is to save the world from a virus either metaphorically or literally. "Saving the world" will depend on the player's values and choices. Challenges: This was my first time making a full-fledged game and I had no idea where to begin. I really struggled with making the 'goop' the enemies fire collide with the player the way I wanted it to. I also struggled with sprite and animation development, level design, as well as sound effect and music implementation. Highlights of Crumbs: The best part of this game is all of it. B] (jokes). The platform levels are my favourite part of the game because they are nice to look at and fun to play. Another cool part is that the player themselves gets a chance to impact the outcome of the game. Room for improvement: If I had more time, I would like to work on implementing a death counter, a final boss fight, better pacing of the story and more interesting art. I would also like to redo some sprites so that they really pop out from the background. Moreover, I would like to take more time to make the enemies more refined and add more levels in general. Additionally, I would like to fix a few small glitches and make a better physics system. Lastly, I would also like to improve how I implemented the music. I hope you enjoy playing Crumbs!
